Record of Merit Program

The Canadian Pinto Horse Association's Record of Merit (R.O.M.) Program, started in 1973, allows horses to accumulate show points, at CPtHA approved Shows, from year to year.

The program offers Recognition Certificates at several levels.  Foals may be registered in the program as weanlings. A one-time fee of $ 15 is payable before points may be earned.

Points earned in both line and performance classes are recorded.  R.O.M. certificates are presented to those horses who accumulate 30 points on a 30% - 70% interchangeable basis.  For Example, a horse with 9 halter class points and 21 performance points is eligible for the certificate, as is the horse with 21 halter points and 9 performance points.

When a horse has earned 50 points, on the same interchangeable basis, he/she is presented with an R.O.M. Champion certificate.
A total of 70 interchangeable points denotes the horse as a Supreme Champion
A Certificate of Ability will be awarded to a horse that has accumulated 30 points in any one of the approved events.
When a horse has earned four Certificates of Ability, he/she earns a Superior Performance Award.
At the end of the 1997 show season, only three registered Canadian Pinto Horses had earned the prestigious Superior Performance Award.

Ability Award Program
To be eligible, the Canadian Pinto horse must be registered with the Canadian Pinto Horse Association and may be ridden by more than one person, subject to show rules.
