NOMINATION
Stallion Nominations will be done by December 31 of the current year, starting with the 2000 year. The stallion nomination fee will be $100.00 per stallion. Stallion owners will receive one free foal nomination per stallion. (All regular update fees must be paid) Stallion owners must submit a copy of their stallions registration papers to The Alberta Pinto Futurity Committee when the stallion is nominated. Stallion owner has the right to screen mares and the breeding costs, mare care, etc, is in agreement between the mare owner and the stallion owner NOT the Alberta Pinto Horse Association or the Futurity Program/Committee. The stallion owner must submit a copy of their stallion breeding report to The Alberta Pinto Horse Association. MARES The Alberta Pinto Horse Futurity Program will accept one year extension for possible nominated foals in case of a mare death or abortion. If the stallion is nominated the second year, a veterinarian certificate must be sent to the futurity committee. This should be discussed with the stallion owner at the time of the mare breeding agreement. FOALS Any eligible colored Canadian Pinto foal from nominated stallions is to be nominated by post marked August 1st of the birth year (eg. 2004), with a copy of registration papers or registration application with the foal nomination form and a cheque or money order for $100.00. Breeding stock horses are not eligible. UPDATE FEES |

All update fees are due by July 1st of the current year. If fees are not paid by that postmark date, late fees apply with an additional cost of $75.00 A service charge of $15.00 over and above cheque amount will be accessed for any NSF cheques received by The Alberta Pinto Horse Association. Weenling, yearling, 2 year old and 3 year old futurity classes will have a payout to fourth place with a 40/30/20/10% split. ribbons will be awarded to sixth place. All first futurity winners will be awarded horse blankets. The 3 yera old futurity will have to perform a pattern. The 4 year old futurity horses will have a stake class with payout for 1st and 2nd placings, with a 60/40% split. This money will be from accumulated update fees. This stake class will have a more advanced pattern. First place will also receive a horse blanket. The cost of the futurity blankets will come out of the money accumulated for each age group. Any added purse money from sponsorship will go to the specified futurity. The funds from the stallion nomination fees, foal nomination fees, update fees and late charges will be split over four years. Any entry may change ownership and retain eligibility under the new owner, provided the futurity committee is notified in writing and the new owner keeps up all payments when due and meets all other requirements. Stallion owners and participants of the A.Pt.H.A. halter and Performance Futurities must be members of The Alberta Pinto Horse Association. If an owner chooses not to show their futurity horse that current year of the update fees are still due that year if they want to continue showing in the following futurities. If update fees and late charges are not paid by show date, the remaining futurity program is forfeited. (Fees will be subject to change by the A.Pt.H.A. Board of Directors) The futurity will be judged by a two judge system. In the event of a tie, The Alberta Pinto Horse Association Show judges will make the final decision.
